This video shows the mechanics of Tank Tangle. The bullets bounce off walls, the Speed Pads boost you forward, the Mines will add points to your opponents score if you drive into them.

Speed Pads are the primary mechanical addition I've made to my Tank Clone. This is what they look like:
The GIF below this sentence shows how they function (focus on the Red Tank). If the player drives over them while facing the direction the Speed Pad is pointing, they'll move faster than normal. Trying to drive against them will slow you down greatly.
